The Physical Wall |
The purpose of the Memorial Wall of Names is to provide a permanent place of collective memory of the sacrifice made for our freedoms. We hope to accomplish this by creating the Memorial in a public and accessible place that is open to all.
We envision that this place will be open to visitors at all times but have private places for personal reflection and contemplation in serene garden surroundings.
This will be a place where all citizens and visitors can come and reflect on the magnitude of the sacrifices that have been made to protect human rights and freedoms. |

The Virtual Wall |
The Memorial Wall of Names Foundation also hopes to create an online Virtual Wall. This will create an interactive experience worldwide. Links would be made to other online memorials such as the Maple Leaf Legacy Project and the Virtual Memorial information Canadian Virtual War Memorial maintained by Veterans Affairs Canada.
The Virtual Wall will help to engage youth and allow individuals to interact with the memory of their Fallen and each other. The goal is to create a place where you can search the name of a Fallen family member or friend and create a personal page in their memory. This page will allow you to share stories, information, photos and also allow others to share any memories they may have of the fallen with you.
We believe that the Virtual Wall will create a unique experience for Canadians. It will allow us to gather important historical information, create connections with each other , provide an outlet to heal but most importantly, it will help remind us all of the importance of human rights and freedoms by humanizing those who have died to preserve them.
